Porous MOFs and Composite Materials for Advanced Applications
Chandigarh, India
14 Sep 2026 — 18 Sep 2026
Theme: Porous materials, especially metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and composites, are valued for their tunable structures, large surface areas, controllable pores, and versatile chemistry. Combining them with metal oxides, carbon materials, polymers, MXenes, COFs, and other components broadens applications in sensing, remediation, gas separation, catalysis, and energy technologies. This 10-lecture advanced course develops a systematic understanding of MOF-based materials, covering fundamental chemistry, design, synthesis, characterization, functionalization, composite formation, and applications. It emphasizes structure–property–performance relationships, critical literature evaluation, and challenges in stability, reproducibility, scalability, and device integration. Using a research-intensive, Harvard-style approach, lectures pair core concepts with recent studies, case analyses, experimental strategies, and open research questions. The course is suited to Master’s and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scientists in materials chemistry, nanotechnology, sensing, catalysis, environmental science, and energy materials.
